Calaveras Big Trees State Park

You can travel the world over and find few natural wonders that rival the majestic beauty of the Giant Sequoias in Calaveras Big Trees State Park. Located just four miles from Arnold, opt to meander through the 1½-mile scenic North Grove or do some serious hiking in the self-guided five-mile pristine South Grove. Within its 6,000-acre boundaries you have easy access to the raging Stanislaus River and peace-provoking Beaver Creek, as well as miles of forest trails for hiking and mountain biking. Open year round, the Park houses 120 campsites, picnic areas, and an interpretive center.

CCR Insider: Celebrate your discoveries at the end of the day at the Park’s campfire programs, or get the kids involved in the Junior Ranger and stream ecology programs.
