Arnold California’s Mountain Biking and Hiking Trails

With a population average of 14 people per mile, there’s plenty of room for hiking and biking Calaveras County! The newly-established Arnold Rim Trail is a perfect place to start in Arnold, and trails throughout the Stanislaus National Forest and Carson-Iceberg Wilderness Area deliver you to high mountain lakes through thick conifer forests and open meadows with stellar views of the Sierra’s high peaks. The network of trails around New Melones Lake is a hiker and mountain biker’s dream. From tame to treacherous, the county’s widely varied terrain provides exceptional hiking and off and on road biking opportunities. In the west county, the Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail is gaining ground.

CCR Insider: You pick the trail then “just do it!”  Arnold Rim Trail is open to hike, bike and hoof (horse) and takes you to must see hidden waterfalls and distant views.
